About the Role

We are seeking a passionate Health IT Specialist to bridge clinical workflows and cutting‑edge technology. In this 100% remote position, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including clinicians, developers, and compliance officers—to deliver electronic health record (EHR) enhancements, interoperability projects, and data analytics platforms. Key Responsibilities

• Configure, customize, and maintain EHR modules (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or athenahealth) to meet clinical requirements.
• Lead HL7/FHIR integration projects ensuring seamless data exchange between disparate systems.
• Perform risk assessments and implement HIPAA‑aligned security controls for protected health information.
• Develop and execute test plans for system upgrades, patches, and new feature rollouts.
• Provide tier‑2/3 support to end‑users, translating technical issues into clinical language.
• Partner with data scientists to build dashboards that surface actionable insights for quality improvement.
• Stay current on ONC certification criteria, Meaningful Use, and emerging health‑tech standards.

Requirements

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Nursing Informatics, or a related field.
• Epic/Cerner certification (or equivalent) strongly preferred.
• Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) or HIMSS‑approved credential is a plus.

Technical Skills

• Deep expertise with clinical workflow design, order sets, and documentation templates.
• Proficiency in HL7 v2.x, FHIR (R4), CCD/CCDA, and IHE profiles.
• Experience with SQL, Python, or PowerShell for data extraction and automation.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for health‑tech deployments.

Soft Skills & Experience
