Actalent is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Designer to join a pioneering ethanol company that leverages proprietary, industry‑leading technology. This full‑time role offers a fixed annual salary of $93,167.91 and involves designing advanced instrumentation, electrical, and control systems for innovative ethanol production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed instrumentation, electrical, and control system designs from concept through construction.
  • Create and review P&IDs, wiring diagrams, control narratives, and specification packages.
  • Collaborate with process engineers, clients, vendors, and field teams to ensure design feasibility and compliance.
  • Perform equipment selection, sizing, and data‑sheet preparation for sensors, transmitters, valves, and control panels.
  • Support procurement by generating accurate bill‑of‑materials and technical submittals.
  • Provide on‑site assistance during installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
  • Ensure all designs meet applicable codes, standards (e.g., ISA, IEC, NFPA), and safety regulations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of hands‑on instrumentation design experience, preferably in process or chemical industries.
  • Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD Plant 3D, EPLAN, or SmartPlant Instrumentation.
  • Strong understanding of process control strategies, loop diagrams, and fieldbus protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional teamwork and client interaction.
  • Ability to travel to field sites as needed.
