Job Summary

Actalent is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Field Systems Automation team in Chesterfield, Saint Louis County, US. This role focuses on designing and supporting cutting‑edge software for automated research and development field equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain control software for field and laboratory automation systems.
• Implement data acquisition pipelines and machine‑control interfaces.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers, data scientists, and R&D scientists to integrate software with geospatially connected equipment.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for deployed field systems.
• Write clear documentation, unit tests, and contribute to continuous‑integration pipelines.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Python, or similar programming languages.
• Experience with real‑time embedded systems, sensor integration, and machine control.
