About This Position
Job Summary
Kimes Engineering is seeking a Structural Engineer in Tampa, Hillsborough County, FL to enhance our engineering capabilities in structural design and specifications for a diverse client base. This full‑time role focuses on reinforced concrete structures and requires familiarity with the Florida Building Code.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and develop detailed structural specifications for reinforced concrete projects.
- Prepare calculations, drawings, and construction documents in compliance with the Florida Building Code and local regulations.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Perform site inspections and provide technical support during construction phases.
- Maintain project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida.
- Minimum 3 years of experience designing reinforced concrete structures.
- Strong knowledge of the 2020 Florida Building Code.
- Proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000) and AutoCAD/Revit.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with high‑rise, parking structures, or commercial buildings.
- Leadership experience on multi‑disciplinary project teams.
Compensation & Benefits
