About the Role

As a Remote Substance Abuse Counselor, you will provide confidential, client‑centered therapy to adults and adolescents navigating substance use disorders. You will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver both individual and group sessions via secure video platforms. Collaboration with multidisciplinary care teams, ongoing documentation, and participation in quality‑improvement initiatives are core to this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform intake evaluations and diagnostic assessments using ASAM criteria.
• Design and implement evidence‑based treatment plans (CBT, MI, DBT, relapse prevention).
• Facilitate weekly individual counseling and bi‑weekly group therapy sessions.
• Monitor client progress through outcome measures and adjust interventions accordingly.
• Coordinate with physicians, peer specialists, and community resources for holistic care.
• Maintain accurate, HIPAA‑compliant electronic health records in real time.
• Participate in weekly supervision, case conferences, and continuing education.

Requirements

Education & Licensure

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
• Current, unrestricted state license (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) – multi‑state licensure a plus.
• Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) or similar credential preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years post‑licensure experience in substance use treatment settings.
• Proven track record delivering telehealth or virtual counseling services.

Salary Range
