Job Summary

Motion Recruitment Partners, LLC is seeking a Principal Data Engineer for a full‑time, hybrid role in South Boston, Suffolk County, US. You will design and scale the data infrastructure that powers a cutting‑edge healthcare technology platform for life‑sciences companies.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines and warehouses supporting regulatory data ingestion, transformation, and analytics.
• Lead the design of data models, schemas, and ETL processes that enable real‑time insights for pharmaceutical and medical device clients.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and data science teams to define data requirements and deliver high‑quality data solutions.
• Implement data governance, security, and compliance best practices in line with HIPAA and FDA regulations.
• Mentor senior and junior engineers, fostering a culture of code quality, testing, and continuous improvement.
• Evaluate and integrate emerging data technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Kafka) to keep the platform at the forefront of the industry.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience in data engineering or related fields.
• Expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern data stack tools (Spark, Flink, Airflow, dbt).
• Strong SQL/NoSQL skills and proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java.
• Proven track record designing large‑scale data warehouses and real‑time streaming pipelines.
• Deep understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance standards in healthcare.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in life‑sciences, pharmaceutical, or medical device data domains.
• Familiarity with regulatory data sources (FDA, EMA, etc.).
• Hands‑on experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.

Compensation & Benefits
