System Administrator (Secret Clearance Required)

ASEC is seeking a System Administrator with an active Secret clearance (and ability to obtain Top Secret) for an on‑site role in Lexington Park, St. Mary’s County, MD. This full‑time position supports the U.S. Navy’s new Simulators at Sea (S@S) training system.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers supporting the S@S simulator environment.
• Implement security hardening, patch management, and compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot incidents, and provide Tier‑2/3 support to end users.
• Collaborate with software engineers and Navy personnel to integrate new training modules.
• Maintain documentation, change control records, and provide regular status reports.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and emergency response for mission‑critical systems.

Required Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance and eligibility to obtain Top Secret.
• 3+ years of experience as a System Administrator in a secure, government or defense environment.
• Proficiency with Active Directory, VMware/Hyper‑V, and network services (DNS, DHCP, VPN).
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (DISA STIG, NIST RMF).
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently on‑site.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Navy or DoD training systems, especially simulators.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash) for automation.
• Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $120,000 – $139,000 per year. Comprehensive health, dental, vision, 401(k) match, and generous paid time off.
