About This Position

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Manufacturing Robotics and Automation Engineering Manager to lead a team of Robotics Engineers in Grand Prairie, Dallas, US. This senior role directs advanced manufacturing automation projects for missiles and fire control systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and management to the Advanced Manufacturing Technologies (AMT) robotics team.
  • Define and oversee automation strategies, cost targets, schedules, and performance metrics for missile and fire‑control production lines.
  • Develop, qualify, and integrate robotic cells, vision systems, and collaborative robots into high‑mix, low‑volume manufacturing environments.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering, program management, and supply‑chain teams to ensure seamless technology transfer to the shop floor.
  • Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives, including lean, Six Sigma, and Industry 4.0 practices.
  • Mentor and develop engineering talent, conducting performance reviews and fostering a culture of innovation.
  • Manage budgets, resource allocation, and risk assessments for automation projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline; Master’s preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing robotics, automation, or advanced manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record delivering robotic systems for defense or aerospace applications.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC/PC‑based control, vision guidance, motion control, and safety standards (ISO 10218, ANSI/RIA).
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multi‑million‑dollar budgets.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with missile or fire‑control system production.
  • Familiarity with DOE, FMEA, and other reliability engineering tools.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, Six Sigma Black Belt, or Certified Robotics Engineer.

Compensation

Salary range: $128,400 – $226,435 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
