Northern Rivers Family of Services is seeking a Special Education Teacher in Brandywine, Schenectady County, NY. This full‑time role offers a competitive salary between $58,000 and $68,250 and a $5,000 retention bonus.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deliver, and adapt individualized instructional plans for students with special needs, aligning with IEP goals.
- Monitor student progress, collect data, and modify teaching strategies to ensure academic and behavioral success.
- Collaborate daily with the Assistant Principal, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.
- Maintain accurate records, attendance, and compliance with all agency policies and state regulations.
- Provide a safe, inclusive classroom environment and implement positive behavior interventions.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and upcoming goals.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field; valid New York State teaching certification.
- Experience working with K‑12 students with diverse disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, differentiated instruction, and behavior management techniques.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work on‑site Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (no weekends).
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $58,000 – $68,250 annually. Retention bonus of $5,000 paid in two installments (half at 90 days, half at one year). Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
