Professional Land Surveyor

Water & Environmental Technologies Inc is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor to lead and manage land surveying projects from its headquarters in Butte, Silver Bow County, Montana.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute land surveying projects across Montana, Wyoming, and the Western US.
• Supervise field crews, ensure compliance with state and federal surveying standards, and maintain quality control.
• Prepare and review survey reports, as‑built drawings, and legal documentation for engineers, developers, and governmental agencies.
• Utilize advanced GPS, total station, and GIS technology to collect accurate field data.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate survey data into engineering designs and environmental assessments.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and client communications to ensure timely delivery.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Montana (or ability to obtain quickly).
• Minimum 5 years of progressive land surveying experience, preferably in civil, environmental, or mining projects.
• Proficiency with modern surveying equipment (RTK GPS, total stations, laser scanners) and software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, GIS).
• Strong knowledge of Montana and Wyoming land law, right‑of‑way, and easement documentation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and client‑facing skills.
• BS degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field is preferred.
