About This Position
Random Bit is hiring an experienced AWS Data Architect in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, US. This full‑time role offers a fixed annual salary of $142,508.78 and focuses on modernizing data solutions for Medicaid, Medicare and HHS clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize scalable data architectures on Amazon Web Services for health‑care claim and financial management systems.
- Collaborate with enterprise and solution architects to align data platforms with overall modernization strategies.
- Implement data governance, security, and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, HITECH) across cloud environments.
- Develop ETL pipelines, data lakes, and analytics solutions using AWS services such as Redshift, Glue, Athena, and S3.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and best‑practice guidance to engineering teams.
- Conduct performance tuning, cost‑optimization, and disaster‑recovery planning.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience designing and implementing data solutions on AWS.
- Strong background in Medicaid, Medicare, or Health and Human Services data domains, especially claims and financial data.
- Proficiency with AWS data services (Redshift, RDS, DynamoDB, Glue, Athena, EMR) and infrastructure‑as‑code tools (CloudFormation, Terraform).
- Deep understanding of data modeling, warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and big‑data technologies.
- Experience with data security, encryption, and compliance standards (HIPAA, GDPR, SOC 2).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
Preferred Skills
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or Data Analytics – Specialty.
- Knowledge of Python, SQL, and Spark for data processing.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
