Associate Legal Counsel – Corporate Trust (Remote Hybrid)

UMB Bank is seeking an Associate Legal Counsel – Corporate Trust to work remotely with a hybrid schedule based in Trenton, Mercer County, US. This role focuses on structured finance, escrow, municipal and corporate trust transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and comment on structured finance documents, escrow agreements, municipal and corporate bond notes, and related transaction paperwork.
• Draft and propose contractual language to protect UMB Bank’s corporate trust interests.
• Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders on transaction structures, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, and external counsel to ensure timely execution of trust transactions.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of trust law, securities regulations, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission in at least one US jurisdiction.
• 2‑4 years of experience in corporate trust, structured finance, or related banking law.
• Strong analytical and drafting skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote‑hybrid environment.

Compensation & Benefits
