About This Position
Job Summary
Harbor Group Management is hiring a Partnership Accountant to join its corporate office in Norfolk, Norfolk City, VA. This full‑time, onsite role supports the firm’s $20 billion real‑estate portfolio and works closely with partners and senior finance leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and maintain partnership financial statements, capital accounts, and distribution schedules.
- Coordinate quarterly and annual partnership tax filings and work with external auditors.
- Analyze joint‑venture performance, reconcile equity balances, and produce variance analysis for senior management.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow modeling for partnership entities.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, ASC 860, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Support the finance team in month‑end close, journal entries, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for partners on financial inquiries and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
- 3‑5 years of experience in partnership accounting, real‑estate finance, or related corporate accounting roles.
- Strong knowledge of partnership tax concepts, equity accounting, and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Yardi, MRI) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Compensation & Benefits
