Senior Accountant

Lyft is seeking a Senior Accountant in SoMa, San Francisco to lead payroll accounting and month‑end close activities for its US headquarters and North American subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post payroll‑related journal entries for Lyft HQ and international subsidiaries in North America.
• Calculate and record monthly payroll accruals, including bonuses, workers’ compensation, PTO, commissions and related liabilities.
• Execute month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes in alignment with GAAP and internal policies.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance and Tax teams to ensure accurate payroll reporting and compliance.
• Develop and maintain documentation for payroll accounting procedures.
• Identify process improvements, automation opportunities and support audit requests.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in payroll accounting or senior accounting roles.
• Strong knowledge of US payroll regulations, GAAP and multi‑entity accounting.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, communication and problem‑solving abilities.

Compensation

Salary: $119,609.21 annually.
