Job Summary
Capital One is seeking an Accounting Manager, Close & Consolidations to lead the financial close and consolidation process in Wilmington, New Castle County, US. This role combines people‑leadership with hands‑on technical expertise in a fast‑paced financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee the month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
- Manage the consolidation of financial results across multiple legal entities and business units.
- Collaborate closely with technology and accounting system teams to enhance automation and reporting efficiency.
- Provide guidance on legal entity structuring, intercompany transactions, and accounting policy application.
- Lead enterprise‑wide initiatives such as system implementations, process redesigns, and regulatory compliance projects.
- Develop and mentor a high‑performing team of accountants, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Prepare and present consolidation results to senior leadership and external auditors.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in financial close, consolidation, and reporting, preferably in a large, multi‑entity organization.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and experience with SEC reporting.
- Proficiency with ERP/financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday) and advanced Excel/Power Query skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to partner with cross‑functional teams and senior leaders.
- Demonstrated leadership ability to coach, develop, and retain talent.
Compensation & Benefits
