Job Summary

Capital One is seeking an Accounting Manager, Close & Consolidations in Richmond, Richmond County, US. This leadership role oversees the month‑end close and consolidation process for a fast‑paced financial services organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the end‑to‑end financial close and consolidation activities across multiple legal entities.
  • Collaborate with technology and accounting system teams to ensure accurate data flow and system integrity.
  • Provide guidance on legal entity structure, accounting policies, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead enterprise‑wide initiatives related to financial reporting, process improvement, and automation.
  • Mentor and develop a team of accountants, fostering a people‑oriented and collaborative culture.
  • Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports.
  • Partner with internal auditors and external auditors during audit cycles.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial close, consolidation, and reporting, preferably in a large corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting, and multi‑entity accounting.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and consolidation tools (e.g., Hyperion, OneStream).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to analyze complex accounting issues and propose practical solutions.

Compensation

Annual salary: $181,589.64
