About the Role

Clinical Leadership

As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnose mental health conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans for a diverse adult and adolescent population. You will prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitor therapeutic response, and coordinate care with therapists, primary care providers, and community resources—all through a secure, HIPAA‑compliant video platform.

Collaborative Care Model

You will participate in weekly interdisciplinary case conferences, contribute to quality‑improvement initiatives, and help refine clinical protocols that enhance patient outcomes and provider satisfaction. Your expertise will directly influence the evolution of our digital care pathways.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform initial and follow‑up psychiatric assessments via telehealth.
  • Prescribe, adjust, and monitor psychopharmacologic regimens.
  • Document encounters in the electronic health record with precision and timeliness.
  • Provide psychoeducation and crisis intervention as needed.
  • Collaborate with therapists, care coordinators, and medical directors to ensure continuity of care.
  • Maintain active licensure and DEA registration in all states where patients reside.

Requirements

Education & Certification

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a psychiatric‑mental health concentration.
  • Current national certification as a Psychiatric‑Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP‑BC).
  • Unrestricted RN and APRN licenses in at least one compact state; willingness to obtain additional state licenses as needed.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of post‑certification clinical experience in outpatient psychiatry, community mental health, or telepsychiatry.
  • Proven competency in prescribing a broad range of psychotropic medications, including controlled substances.
  • Familiarity with electronic prescribing (e‑Rx) and telehealth platforms (e.g., Zoom for Healthcare, Doxy.me, or proprietary EMR).

Technical & Soft Skills

  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently in a virtual environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for building therapeutic alliances over video.
  • Comfort with data‑driven documentation and quality metrics.
  • Commitment to cultural humility and trauma‑informed care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with collaborative care models (e.g., IMPACT, CoCM).
  • Background in substance‑use disorder treatment and MAT prescribing.
  • Prior leadership or precepting experience.

Salary Range

$115,000 – $150,000 USD per year, commensurate with experience, licensure breadth, and clinical productivity. Performance‑based bonuses and annual cost‑of‑living adjustments are available.

Benefits & Perks

  • 100 % remote work with flexible scheduling (full‑time or part‑time options).
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance effective day 1.
  • 401(k) with employer match up to 4 %.
  • Generous paid time off, including mental‑health days and continuing‑education allowance ($2,500/year).
  • Malpractice coverage, DEA renewal reimbursement, and state licensure fees paid.
  • Access to a peer‑support network and monthly clinical supervision groups.
  • Technology stipend for high‑speed internet, webcam, and ergonomic home‑office setup.
