About This Position
Job Summary
Join the Central Park Conservancy as a Daytime Park Maintainer I or II in the United States. This full‑time, non‑exempt role works a 6:00 am – 2:30 pm shift maintaining the iconic 843‑acre Central Park.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine landscape upkeep including mowing, pruning, planting, and irrigation system checks.
- Inspect and repair park infrastructure such as pathways, benches, fences, and lighting.
- Collect and dispose of litter, debris, and hazardous materials following safety protocols.
- Assist with seasonal projects, special events, and holiday coverage as needed.
- Document work performed, report deficiencies, and coordinate with the Park Maintenance Manager.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and maintain equipment in good condition.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; relevant horticulture or grounds‑keeping experience preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Basic knowledge of plant care, irrigation, and park safety standards.
- Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $43,500 – $47,400 annually, based on experience and classification (I or II). Full‑time benefits include health, dental, vision, retirement plan, and paid time off.
