About This Position
Process Control Engineer – Drax Group – United States (multiple locations including LaSalle, LA; Demopolis, AL; and Amite, MS). Join a leading zero‑carbon energy company and ensure safe, efficient plant operations through advanced control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply process control theory to monitor, analyse and optimise plant performance.
- Maintain and calibrate Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and associated hardware.
- Manage alarm strategies, investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot control loops, instrumentation and communication networks to minimise downtime.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance and engineering teams to develop and test new control strategies.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports and compliance records.
- Support commissioning and start‑up activities for new or upgraded equipment.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Control Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in process control within power generation, petrochemical or heavy‑industry environments.
- Proficiency with DCS platforms (e.g., ABB, Siemens, GE) and PLC programming.
- Strong analytical abilities and experience with alarm management and root‑cause analysis.
- Knowledge of safety standards (ISA‑84, IEC‑61511) and regulatory compliance.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work across multiple sites.
