About This Position
Job Summary
Openkyber is hiring a Junior Automation Engineer (Cloud) to work remotely from Georgia, US. This 6‑month contract role supports cloud‑based automation projects, data pipelines, and reporting tools while gaining hands‑on experience with modern DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain automation scripts and workflows in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Assist senior engineers in building CI/CD pipelines and integrating monitoring solutions.
- Support data ingestion and transformation processes, ensuring data quality and timely delivery.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot anomalies, validate outputs, and improve reporting accuracy.
- Document automation procedures, create runbooks, and contribute to knowledge‑base articles.
- Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and agile ceremonies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Fundamental understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Basic knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret data logs and identify root causes.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team attitude.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting platforms (Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus).
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and agile project management.
Compensation
Salary range: $104,000 – $108,160 per year (US). The position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in Georgia, US.
