Job Summary

Merck is seeking an Associate Director, Data Science & Advanced Analytics to join its DHH US Market Engagement Team in Rahway, Union County, US. This senior role drives strategic analytics initiatives that support commercial brand strategy and demand fulfillment.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with US commercial stakeholders to translate brand strategy into data‑driven business requirements.
• Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced analytics models (e.g., forecasting, segmentation, propensity scoring) to optimize demand generation for DHH products.
• Quarterback cross‑functional demand‑fulfillment projects, ensuring alignment with market priorities and timely activation of analytics solutions.
• Mentor a team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Present insights and actionable recommendations to senior leadership, influencing product launch and go‑to‑market decisions.
• Maintain governance, data quality, and compliance standards in line with Merck’s global analytics framework.

Required Qualifications

• Advanced degree (PhD or Master’s) in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or life‑science analytics, with a proven track record of leading high‑impact projects.
• Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and cloud‑based analytics platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong business acumen and ability to translate complex data into clear commercial strategies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

Compensation

Annual salary: $213,661.67 (USD). Additional Merck benefits apply.
