Westchester Medical Center is seeking a skilled System Engineer II to join its technology team in East View, Westchester County, US. This mid‑level role provides advanced support for data‑center infrastructure, cloud services, and security operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain servers, storage arrays, and virtualization platforms across WMC data centers.
• Manage cloud environments (AWS, Azure or private cloud) and ensure seamless integration with on‑premise systems.
• Administer databases, backup solutions, and disaster‑recovery processes.
• Collaborate with the WMC Security team to implement and monitor robust cyber‑security controls, intrusion detection, and physical security measures.
• Troubleshoot complex incidents, perform root‑cause analysis, and document resolutions.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
• Participate in capacity planning, performance tuning, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience with Windows/Linux server administration, virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V), and storage technologies.
• Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, PowerShell DSC).
• Strong understanding of networking, firewalls, VPNs, and security best practices.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, VCP, AWS Solutions Architect, CISSP) preferred.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
