About This Position
Job Summary
General Motors is hiring a Senior Functional Calibration Specialist to join its Systems Engineering Team in Milford, Oakland County, US. This role focuses on developing and validating calibration requirements for new vehicle features and software content.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with systems engineering, software development, and validation teams to define calibration specifications for upcoming vehicle functions.
- Design, implement, and execute calibration test plans, ensuring compliance with performance, safety, and emissions standards.
- Analyze calibration data, generate reports, and recommend adjustments to meet target metrics.
- Maintain calibration tools, scripts, and documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
- Provide technical guidance to junior calibration engineers and support cross‑functional problem‑solving sessions.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and root‑cause investigations.
- Ensure all calibration activities adhere to GM’s quality management system and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in functional calibration, vehicle systems integration, or automotive software validation.
- Proficiency with calibration tools (e.g., CANape, INCA, MATLAB/Simulink) and data analysis techniques.
- Strong understanding of powertrain, chassis, or ADAS systems and their calibration needs.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with electric or hybrid vehicle platforms.
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety standards.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Compensation & Benefits
