WSP USA is seeking a senior‑level Process Piping Designer (Senior Technical Manager) to join its Power Generation team in Glendale, Denver, CO. This role offers a competitive salary of $128,729 and involves leading piping design, equipment layout, and field verification for major energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed process piping models and isometric drawings using industry‑standard software (e.g., AutoCAD Plant 3D, PDMS).
- Create equipment arrangement layouts and coordinate mechanical interfaces with civil, structural, and electrical disciplines.
- Perform field verification, clash detection, and constructability reviews to ensure design integrity.
- Lead a small team of junior designers, providing mentorship and technical guidance.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to meet schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
- Prepare and review design calculations, specifications, and compliance documentation for ASME, API, and client standards.
- Support procurement activities by generating material take‑offs and reviewing vendor submittals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in process piping design for power generation or heavy‑industrial projects.
- Proficiency with piping design software (AutoCAD Plant 3D, SmartPlant, PDMS) and familiarity with 3D modeling.
- Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3, B31.1, API 650, and relevant industry codes.
