Job Summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries is seeking a Procurement Specialist in Syracuse, Onondaga County, US. This full‑time, non‑exempt role supports the Warfare Systems business group within the Mission Technologies division.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies for cyber, electronic warfare, and C5ISR projects.
• Manage the full source‑to‑pay cycle, including requisition, supplier selection, negotiation, and contract award.
• Maintain compliance with federal acquisition regulations and internal policies.
• Collaborate with engineering, program management, and finance teams to align purchasing with project schedules and budgets.
• Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and drive cost‑saving initiatives.
• Prepare and analyze spend data, market trends, and risk assessments.
• Ensure all procurement actions are documented in the company’s ERP system.

Qualifications

• Mid‑level experience (3‑5 years) in government or defense procurement.
• Secret security clearance (must be maintained).
• Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and other defense contracting regulations.
• Proven negotiation and contract management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency with ERP/ procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
