About This Position
City National Bank is seeking a Fraud Strategy Analyst 1LOD to join its team in Newark, New Castle County, US. This role focuses on fraud prevention, risk analysis, and strategy development to protect the bank and its clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze client and transaction data to identify emerging fraud trends across payment types and business divisions.
- Collaborate with the Fraud Strategy Lead to develop and refine fraud detection models and mitigation tactics.
- Prepare detailed reports on fraud schemes, threat metrics, and risk exposure for senior management.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing fraud controls, recommending enhancements where needed.
- Support cross‑functional teams, including compliance, investigations, and IT, to implement fraud prevention initiatives.
- Stay current on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and new fraud techniques.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Criminal Justice, Data Analytics or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in fraud analysis, risk management, or financial crime investigations.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data‑visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and SQL or similar query languages.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex findings to non‑technical audiences.
- Detail‑oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of banking regulations (e.g., BSA, AML) and fraud typologies.
- Experience with fraud detection platforms or machine‑learning models.
- Professional certifications such as CFE, CFEA, or CAMS.
