About the Role

As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and prescribe medications when appropriate. This role is fully remote, allowing you to design a schedule that balances clinical productivity with personal well‑being. You will utilize a secure, HIPAA‑compliant video platform and an integrated EHR system to document encounters, track outcomes, and communicate with the care team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform initial and follow‑up psychiatric evaluations via secure video platform.
• Diagnose mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, and substance use disorders.
• Formulate evidence‑based treatment plans that combine psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, and lifestyle interventions.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring for efficacy, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Provide individual psychotherapy using modalities such as CBT, DBT, and supportive counseling.
• Conduct psychoeducation sessions for patients and families to improve adherence and coping skills.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and coordinate referrals to community resources, social services, and inpatient facilities when needed.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) and participate in chart audits.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives, peer review, and ongoing professional development activities.
• Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and training webinars to stay current on best practices.

Requirements

Education & Licensure

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric‑Mental Health.
• Current, active Nurse Practitioner license in good standing in the state(s) where you will practice.
• Board certification as a Psychiatric‑Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP‑BC) or eligible for certification.
• Active DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
• Eligibility to practice telehealth across multiple states (or willingness to obtain necessary licensures).

Experience & Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in psychiatric mental health settings (inpatient, outpatient, or community).
• Proven competence with telehealth platforms and electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or similar).
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and cultural competence.
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative virtual team.
• Commitment to evidence‑based practice, continuous learning, and staying abreast of emerging treatments.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for documentation and follow‑up.
