Release Manager (Remote)

GovCIO is seeking a Release Manager (Remote) to support the Health Services Portfolio Technical Management and Strategic Solutioning Support (HTMS) program for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. This fully remote role is based in Wyoming, Kent County, US, with a salary of $120,185.38.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate software releases across multiple VA environments following established VA processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with development, QA, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure release readiness and compliance.
• Maintain release documentation, risk assessments, and post‑release reports.
• Manage release calendars, track milestones, and resolve conflicts or blockers.
• Facilitate release readiness meetings, retrospectives, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and suitability/public trust requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in release management or a related IT operations role.
• Strong knowledge of ITIL/ITSM processes, version control, CI/CD pipelines, and release automation tools.
• Experience working in federal government environments, preferably with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• U.S. citizenship with eligibility for a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
