GovCIO is hiring a Clinical Informatics Director (MD/DO) to work remotely from anywhere in the United States, with a fixed annual salary of $259,575.42. This senior leadership role bridges clinical practice and digital health technology, guiding complex healthcare IT initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of clinical information systems across multiple health‑care organizations.
- Act as the primary liaison between physicians, nursing staff, and IT teams to ensure technology aligns with real‑world workflows.
- Develop and enforce clinical data governance, standards, and compliance with federal regulations (e.g., HIPAA, ONC).
- Oversee the integration of electronic health records (EHR), telehealth platforms, and analytics tools to improve patient outcomes.
- Provide expert guidance on clinical decision support, interoperability, and population health initiatives.
- Mentor and supervise a multidisciplinary team of informatics analysts, data scientists, and project managers.
- Prepare and present strategic reports for executive leadership and government stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with active, unrestricted U.S. medical license.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in clinical informatics, health‑IT strategy, or related fields.
- Proven track record leading large‑scale EHR implementations or digital health transformation projects.
- Strong knowledge of interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, CDA) and clinical data models.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for clinical audiences.
- Eligibility for a U.S. Public Trust or Suitability clearance.
