Director, Business Development – Specialty Pharmacy

Cardinal Health is seeking a Director of Business Development for its Specialty Pharmacy division in Urbanización El Vedado, San Juan. This senior role leads growth initiatives with specialty pharma manufacturers and biotech firms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic business development plans to expand Cardinal Health’s specialty pharmacy services.
• Identify, negotiate, and manage partnerships with cell, gene, rare‑disease and exclusive‑drug manufacturers.
• Lead provider engagement, payer contracting, and reimbursement strategy initiatives.
• Collaborate with clinical, data analytics, and operations teams to deliver integrated solutions and track patient outcomes.
• Represent Cardinal Health at industry conferences and client meetings, presenting value propositions and performance metrics.
• Mentor and manage a business development team, setting targets and monitoring performance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Pharmacy, Life Sciences or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in specialty pharmacy, biotech, or pharmaceutical business development.
• Proven track record of securing high‑value contracts and partnerships.
• Deep understanding of cell and gene therapy markets, payer dynamics, and reimbursement models.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Compensation & Benefits
