Job Summary
Join Lumen as a Manager Network Planning in Boise, Ada County, US. Lead the design and optimization of Lumen’s AI‑driven network infrastructure while driving strategy, performance, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute long‑term network capacity and topology plans aligned with AI and cloud service growth.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (engineering, product, finance) to translate business requirements into network designs.
- Lead a team of network planners, providing mentorship, performance reviews, and career development.
- Analyze traffic patterns, forecasting demand and recommending upgrades or re‑architecture.
- Ensure network plans meet security, reliability, and regulatory standards.
- Present strategic roadmaps and progress reports to senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in network planning, design, or architecture, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Deep understanding of fiber, MPLS, Ethernet, and emerging AI‑enabled networking technologies.
- Proven analytical skills, using tools such as GIS, demand‑modeling software, and data visualization.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
