Associate Legal Counsel – Corporate Trust (Remote Hybrid)

UMB Bank is seeking an Associate Legal Counsel – Corporate Trust to join its Boise, Ada County team in a remote‑hybrid role. This position focuses on structured finance, escrow, municipal and corporate trust transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and comment on structured finance documents, escrow agreements, municipal and corporate bond and note documentation.
• Draft and propose contractual language to protect UMB Bank’s corporate trust interests.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, risk, and operations teams, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Provide legal advice on transaction structuring, risk mitigation, and documentation best practices.
• Assist in negotiating terms with counterparties and external counsel.
• Stay current on industry developments, securities regulations, and trust law.

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 2–4 years of experience drafting and negotiating corporate trust, structured finance, or municipal bond documents.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legal and financial instruments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal document management tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a hybrid team.

Compensation & Benefits
