Job Summary

Ryder System is seeking a Claims Representative II to work remotely from Washington, D.C., US. This role focuses on handling auto liability claims within Ryder’s self‑insured, self‑administered liability program.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage low‑ to mid‑range bodily injury and property damage claims for commercial auto policies.
• Investigate claim facts, gather documentation, and assess coverage under applicable contracts.
• Communicate clearly with claimants, attorneys, medical providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.
• Prepare detailed claim reports, recommend settlement amounts, and negotiate settlements within authority limits.
• Maintain accurate claim files in the company’s claims management system.
• Identify trends and provide feedback to improve underwriting and loss control practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience handling auto liability claims, preferably in a self‑insured environment.
• Strong knowledge of commercial auto coverage, policy language, and state regulations.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
• Proficient with claims software and Microsoft Office suite.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally for investigations.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $66,951.64 annually.
