Job Summary
UNC Health Care is seeking a Revenue Cycle Representative – Patient Accounting to join our team in Morrisville, Wake County, NC. This full‑time role focuses on managing complex insurance claims, resolving denials, and maintaining acceptable accounts receivable aging.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve outstanding insurance claims with no response, claim edits, or denials.
- Perform detailed claim edits, submit corrected claims, and follow up with payors to secure payment.
- Maintain A/R aging reports and ensure balances stay within acceptable thresholds.
- Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance representatives to clarify billing issues.
- Document all actions in the billing system accurately and timely.
- Identify trends in claim denials and recommend process improvements.
- Collaborate with the finance and clinical teams to support seamless revenue cycle operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree in health administration or related field preferred.
- Experience in medical billing, patient accounting, or revenue cycle management.
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes, CPT/HCPCS coding, and HIPAA compliance.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $44,894.50 per year.
