Senior ServiceNow Developer

GovCIO is seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer to design, develop, and maintain mission‑critical applications for the U.S. Coast Guard. This fully remote role is based in Archer, Laramie County, US, with a fixed salary of $111,443.08.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end development of ServiceNow solutions, including custom applications, integrations, and automated workflows.
• Collaborate with Coast Guard stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Ensure all deliverables align with the Software Lifecycle Management Plan (SLMP) and follow best‑practice coding standards.
• Perform code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and provide mentorship to junior developers.
• Maintain and enhance existing ServiceNow modules, ensuring optimal performance and security.
• Produce technical documentation, test plans, and deployment guides.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of hands‑on ServiceNow development experience, including scripting (JavaScript, Jelly), workflow design, and integration using REST/SOAP APIs.
• Strong understanding of ITSM, ITOM, and ITBM processes.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
• Top‑secret clearance eligibility or ability to obtain it.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
