Project Manager 1 – Substation Transmission – Detroit, Wayne County
Join Sargent & Lundy as a Project Manager 1 overseeing transmission, substation, and distribution projects. This hybrid role blends remote work with on‑site collaboration in Detroit.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of multiple capital projects from conception through close‑out.
- Coordinate with internal engineering, procurement, and construction teams as well as external stakeholders, utilities, and contractors.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to meet client and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee contract administration, change orders, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and present progress reports, cost forecasts, and performance metrics to senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience managing transmission or substation projects.
- Proven ability to manage multi‑disciplinary teams and complex schedules.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards (IEEE, NESC) and regulatory codes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and contract administration skills.
- Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
Compensation
Salary: $123,488.54 annually (fixed).
Location & Work Arrangement
Hybrid schedule – combine remote work with on‑site presence at the Detroit office as project demands require.
