About This Position
GE Vernova is seeking a Lead Engineer, Transient Analyses in Boston, Suffolk County, US. This role focuses on boiling water reactor (BWR) transient analyses, supporting reload, power uprate, and new plant projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thermal‑hydraulic and plant transient simulations for BWR systems.
- Lead analysis of reload cycles, power uprate studies, and new plant design evaluations.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and validate computational models.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and regulatory audiences.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of analysis methods.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in thermal‑hydraulic or transient analysis of nuclear reactors.
- Proficiency with industry analysis tools such as RELAP5, TRACE, or CATHARE.
- Strong understanding of BWR operation, safety analysis, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with BWR reload analysis, power uprate projects, or new plant design.
- Knowledge of NRC licensing processes and safety standards.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, MATLAB) for data post‑processing.
