Job Summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Day of Surgery Center located on Jefferson Highway in Custom House, Orleans Parish. This full‑time role offers a competitive salary of $91,132.84 per year.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide peri‑operative nursing care to patients undergoing same‑day surgical procedures.
• Assess patients pre‑operatively, monitor intra‑operative status, and ensure safe recovery in the post‑anesthesia care unit.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and support staff to coordinate care plans.
• Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and document all nursing activities accurately in the electronic health record.
• Educate patients and families on post‑operative instructions and discharge requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, safety rounds, and emergency response drills.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Louisiana (or eligible for licensure).
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience; experience in ambulatory surgery preferred.
• BSN degree or higher preferred.
• Strong communication, critical‑thinking, and teamwork skills.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is a plus.
