Release Manager (Remote)

GovCIO is seeking a Release Manager to work remotely from Chisolm, Montgomery County, US, supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs Health Services Portfolio. This role coordinates software releases within VA’s established processes while ensuring compliance with federal suitability and public trust requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and manage end‑to‑end release cycles for the HTMS program.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams, including developers, QA, and infrastructure, to ensure successful deployment.
• Maintain release documentation, change logs, and compliance artifacts in accordance with VA policies.
• Identify and mitigate release risks, conduct post‑release reviews, and implement continuous improvement actions.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for release status reporting to stakeholders and senior leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in release or configuration management in a federal or large‑scale IT environment.
• Strong knowledge of ITIL/DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems.
• Eligibility for US Suitability/Public Trust clearance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to work independently in a fully remote setting.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) IT systems or similar government agencies.
• Familiarity with automated deployment tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
• Certification such as ITIL, PMP, or SAFe Release Train Engineer.

Compensation & Benefits
