Job Summary

GovCIO is seeking a skilled SME System Administrator to support mission‑critical applications for the U.S. Coast Guard. This fully remote role is based in Chisolm, Montgomery County, US, with a salary of $80,377.75 per year.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure system environments in line with the Software Lifecycle Management Plan (SLMP).
• Provide Tier‑2/3 support for mission‑enabling applications and automated workflows.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot incidents, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with developers, network engineers, and security teams to ensure compliance with federal standards.
• Maintain documentation, change‑control records, and configuration baselines.
• Conduct regular system health checks, patch management, and vulnerability assessments.
• Assist in disaster recovery planning and execution.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in system administration within a federal or defense environment.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, virtualization (VMware/Hyper‑V), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash.
• Understanding of ITIL processes and security frameworks (NIST, DISA STIG).
• Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one.
