About This Position
Job Summary
The Financial Coordinator role at Obsidian Advisory Group is a remote, full‑time position supporting the CFO and Administrative Manager with daily corporate finance operations across Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform bank, ledger and account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
- Prepare and distribute regular financial reports, variance analyses, and cash‑flow statements.
- Track and calculate commissions, bonuses and other incentive payments for staff and partners.
- Assist in the preparation of client deliverables, including investment summaries and performance reports.
- Coordinate administrative tasks such as invoice processing, expense reimbursements, and document filing.
- Liaise with internal teams and external vendors to resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Maintain and improve financial procedures and internal controls.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in financial coordination, accounting, or corporate finance support.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in financial advisory or wealth management firms.
- Knowledge of commission structures and performance‑based compensation.
- Familiarity with cloud‑based collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, Slack, Google Workspace).
