Accounts Payable Senior

Job Summary

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Senior to join its finance team in Berkshire, South East England. This hybrid role (three days in the office) offers a salary range of £35,360 – £41,600 and starts as a temporary position with a strong pathway to permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the full purchase ledger cycle, from invoice receipt to payment processing.
• Ensure accurate coding, posting, and reconciliation of supplier invoices.
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders, addressing queries promptly.
• Monitor cash flow, manage payment runs and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Prepare regular reports on AP ageing, cash forecasts and KPI performance.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close activities, including accruals and variance analysis.
• Assist with audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience in accounts payable or purchase ledger roles, ideally within a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and VAT processes.
• Excellent Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage) is a plus.
• Attention to detail, strong analytical abilities and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative team mindset.
• Relevant accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA) desirable.
