About This Position

Job Summary

Victim Support is seeking an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor to provide specialist face‑to‑face and virtual support in Central London. This hybrid role works 37.5 hours per week from home and our office at 5‑7 Singer Street, EC2A 4BQ.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high‑quality, trauma‑informed advocacy and practical assistance to survivors of domestic abuse.
  • Conduct initial risk assessments and develop personalised safety plans.
  • Provide information on legal rights, housing options, financial support and referrals to specialist services.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and update client records in line with data‑protection policies.
  • Collaborate with police, social services, health professionals and partner charities to coordinate multi‑agency support.
  • Participate in regular supervision, training and team meetings, contributing to service development and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience (minimum 2 years) working with adult survivors of domestic violence.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build trust quickly.
  • Resilience, empathy and the capacity to manage emotionally demanding situations.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, case‑management software and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to the London office as required.
  • Flexibility to work a hybrid schedule of remote and office‑based days.
