About the Role

As a Remote Electrical Project Manager, you will be the driving force behind the successful delivery of electrical infrastructure projects, including substation upgrades, solar farm installations, and smart grid implementations. You will act as the primary liaison between clients, engineering crews, vendors, and internal stakeholders, translating technical requirements into actionable project plans. Your expertise will help mitigate risks, optimize resource allocation, and maintain high quality standards throughout each project lifecycle. You will also mentor junior project managers, fostering knowledge transfer and ensuring that best practices are consistently applied across all initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project scopes, schedules, and cost estimates for electrical projects ranging from $500K to $5M.
• Lead cross‑functional teams of engineers, designers, contractors, and field technicians through virtual collaboration tools.
• Monitor progress against milestones, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
• Ensure adherence to NEC, IEEE, OSHA, and local utility regulations, conducting regular safety and quality audits.
• Prepare and present status reports, risk assessments, and financial forecasts to senior leadership and clients.
• Manage procurement processes, negotiate contracts, and oversee vendor performance to achieve cost savings.
• Facilitate change order management and maintain comprehensive documentation for audit and close‑out purposes.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies to secure permits and approvals, ensuring timely project kick‑off.
• Implement Earned Value Management techniques to forecast project financial health and communicate variances to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; PE license preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing electrical power projects, preferably in renewable energy or utility sectors.
• Proven proficiency with project management software such as MS Project, Primavera P6, or Smartsheet.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and safety practices.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining high levels of accountability and team cohesion.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 10%) for site visits or client meetings.

Compensation

Salary Range: $95,000 – $130,000 USD per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
