Position Overview
Booz Allen Hamilton is hiring a UAS Flight Test Engineer in Lorton, Fairfax County, US to lead planning, logistics, and execution of flight test programs for autonomous Group 1‑3 Unmanned Aerial Systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage detailed test plans, schedules, and risk assessments for UAS flight test campaigns.
- Coordinate test site logistics, including airspace clearance, safety briefings, and equipment provisioning.
- Execute flight tests, collect telemetry, video, and sensor data, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Analyze test results, produce technical reports, and provide actionable recommendations to improve autonomy algorithms.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and mission‑planning teams to integrate new autonomous capabilities.
- Maintain test documentation, configuration control, and data archives for future reference.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in flight test engineering, preferably with unmanned or autonomous aircraft.
- Strong knowledge of UAS regulations, airworthiness standards, and flight test safety procedures.
- Proficiency with flight test data acquisition tools, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, and data analysis techniques.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.
