About the Role

As a Remote Datacenter Technician at Apex Cloud Solutions, you will monitor, diagnose, and resolve hardware incidents across our distributed data‑center fleet. You’ll leverage remote management tools, automated provisioning pipelines, and real‑time telemetry to ensure 99.99% uptime for our customers. Key Responsibilities

• Perform remote server rack‑and‑stack, component replacement, and firmware upgrades using IPMI, iDRAC, and Redfish APIs.
• Monitor environmental sensors, power distribution units, and network fabric health through our centralized observability platform.
• Execute change‑management workflows for hardware lifecycle events, documenting every step in our CMDB.
• Collaborate with network engineers to troubleshoot latency, packet loss, and cabling issues across multi‑region backbones.
• Automate repetitive tasks with Ansible, Python, or Go to reduce mean‑time‑to‑repair (MTTR).
• Participate in a 24/7 on‑call rotation (one week per month) with clear escalation paths and compensated standby time.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience with x86 server hardware (Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, Supermicro).
• Proficiency in Linux system administration (RHEL, Ubuntu) and Windows Server core editions.
• Strong grasp of IPMI, Redfish, SNMP, and out‑of‑band management protocols.
• Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Ansible, Terraform) and scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, cable maps, and data‑center floor plans.
• Excellent written communication for incident reports, runbooks, and cross‑team coordination.
• U.S. residency with a reliable high‑speed internet connection and a quiet workspace for on‑call duties.

Preferred Qualifications
