Job Summary

Our client, a leading multi‑disciplinary civil engineering consultancy, is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer for their Basingstoke office in Cliddesden. This senior role offers a competitive salary of £40,000‑£50,000 depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of flood risk and drainage projects from concept through to construction.
• Develop hydraulic models, drainage calculations and flood risk assessments in line with UK regulations.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural, environmental and transportation engineers.
• Produce detailed design drawings, specifications and cost estimates.
• Manage client relationships, provide technical advice and present design solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development.
• Ensure all work complies with health & safety standards and quality assurance processes.

Required Skills & Experience

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline; Chartered Engineer status preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in flood risk and drainage engineering.
• Proficiency with industry software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, InfoWorks, HEC‑RAS or similar.
• Strong understanding of UK legislation (e.g., Flood Risk Management Act, Building Regulations).
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and report writing abilities.
• Ability to work independently and lead project teams.
