Job Summary

Woodrow Mercer Engineering is seeking a Field Service Engineer based in Waterford, Hertford, GB. This role covers Hertfordshire and neighbouring counties, providing on‑site support for commercial laundry equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial laundry machines at client sites across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Greater London and additional regions including Kent, Bristol, Plymouth, Exeter and Manchester.
• Diagnose equipment faults, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.
• Provide technical advice and training to client staff on proper equipment operation and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain accurate service reports, parts inventory, and documentation in line with company standards.
• Collaborate with the service team to schedule appointments, manage emergency calls and ensure timely completion of work orders.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and uphold company quality standards on every site.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a field service or installation engineer, preferably with commercial laundry or similar industrial equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
• Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
• Ability to read technical schematics, manuals and interpret diagnostic software.
• Flexibility to work overtime, on‑call rotations and respond to urgent service requests.
