Mainframe DevOps Architect

Job Summary

MARKS IT SOLUTIONS LLC is seeking a Mainframe DevOps Architect to work remotely (preferably USA, open to Canada & India) on CST hours for a high‑profile IBM client. Lead the DevOps transformation of z/OS environments, driving CI/CD, automation and modern toolchain integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement enterprise‑wide DevOps strategy for mainframe applications.
• Design, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that integrate z/OS with modern toolchains (Git, Jenkins, Ansible, etc.).
• Automate build, test, deployment and release processes for mainframe workloads.
• Collaborate with development, operations and security teams to ensure seamless delivery and compliance.
• Provide architectural guidance, standards and best practices for mainframe DevOps.
• Mentor and coach internal teams on DevOps tools, practices and culture.
• Monitor performance, reliability and cost metrics, recommending continuous improvements.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in mainframe environments, specifically z/OS.
• Proven expertise in DevOps, CI/CD, automation and infrastructure‑as‑code for mainframe systems.
• Hands‑on experience with tools such as Git, Jenkins, UrbanCode, Ansible, Terraform, and modern container platforms.
• Strong scripting abilities (Shell, REXX, Python, or similar).
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work CST business hours remotely.

Preferred Experience

• Previous work with IBM Cloud, Z/OS Connect, or IBM DevOps solutions.
• Certifications in DevOps, Cloud, or Mainframe technologies.
• Experience supporting global, distributed teams.

Compensation

Annual salary: $162,704.05 (fixed).
