SOAR Engineer / Security Automation Consultant

Job Summary

InterBase Corporation is hiring a SOAR Engineer / Security Automation Consultant for a 12‑month contract based in Pineridge, Lexington County, US. This fully remote role supports statewide security automation for the State of South Carolina.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain the State of South Carolina SOAR platform across multiple state agencies.
• Develop and fine‑tune automated playbooks for incident detection, response, and remediation.
• Collaborate with the Division of Information Security to align automation with security policies and compliance requirements.
• Conduct threat‑hunting activities and integrate new data sources into the SOAR environment.
• Provide technical guidance and training to security teams on automation best practices.
• Monitor platform performance, generate metrics, and produce regular reports for senior leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Security Automation Engineer or SOAR specialist (e.g., Palo Alto Cortex XSOAR, Splunk SOAR, Demisto).
• Strong understanding of security frameworks such as NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, and ISO 27001.
• Hands‑on scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Experience integrating security tools (SIEM, EDR, firewalls, threat intel platforms) via APIs.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and documentation abilities.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.

Preferred Experience

• Previous work with government or public‑sector security initiatives.
• Certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, or SOAR vendor‑specific credentials.
• Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and related security automation.

Compensation & Details

Salary: $98,392.45 per year (fixed for the contract term).
